Privacy Policy

TrackaCard ("we", "us", "our") is a price comparison service for trading card game products (Pokémon and other TCGs) sold at Canadian stores. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What we collect
- Account info — when you sign in, we collect basic identity details from your chosen login provider (e.g. Discord username, user ID and avatar via Discord OAuth, or your email address if you sign in by email).
- Email address — if you provide one for price alerts, so we can notify you when a product hits your target price.
- Search history — the products you search for, stored per-user so we can show your recent searches and watchlist.
- Price alerts & watchlist — the product names and target prices you set, stored to send you notifications.
- Store ratings & comments — any votes or notes you add to stores in the directory.
- Usage data — searches, outbound store-link clicks, alert creation, and similar in-app actions, along with rate-limit counters used to ensure fair access. See "Analytics & cookies" below for details.
2. What we do NOT collect
- Passwords for third-party login providers (handled by Discord / your provider — we never see or store them)
- Payment or card information (handled entirely by our third-party payment processor — we never see or store your card details)
- Precise location data (we do not store IP addresses beyond what your browser sends in standard HTTP requests)
- Browsing history outside of TrackaCard
3. How we use your data
- To authenticate you and maintain your session
- To show your personal recent searches and watchlist
- To send you price alert notifications (Discord DM and/or email) when a product reaches your target price
- To enforce per-user rate limits and keep the service fair and reliable
4. Analytics & cookies
We use two kinds of analytics to understand how TrackaCard is used and to improve the product. Neither is sold or shared with advertisers, and neither is used to build ad-targeting profiles.
- First-party usage events — searches, outbound store-link clicks, alert creation, page views, and similar in-app actions are recorded and linked to your account if you're signed in, or to an anonymous session identifier if you're not (this identifier is linked to your account automatically if you later sign in). We use this to understand what's working, fix problems, and improve the service.
- Plausible Analytics — a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service we use to measure overall site traffic (pages visited, referring sites, device/browser type). Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and cannot identify individual visitors. See Plausible's privacy policy for details.
Because our analytics don't use tracking cookies or collect personal data, we don't display a cookie-consent banner — there's nothing to consent to under PIPEDA or GDPR's cookie rules. If that ever changes, we'll add one and update this section.
5. Third-party services
- Discord — used for optional login (OAuth) and alert notifications (DMs). Subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
- Payment processor — used for subscription billing and payments. Your payment data is handled directly by our processor and is subject to their privacy policy.
- Plausible Analytics — see "Analytics & cookies" above.
- Fly.io — our hosting provider. Your data is stored on servers operated by Fly.io.
6. Data retention
We retain your account info, searches, watchlist and alerts for as long as your account is active. Aggregated store price history is retained for up to 365 days. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see "Your rights" below).
7. Your rights
You may request to view, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Email us at support@trackacard.ca or reach us on Discord, and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's privacy
TrackaCard is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Significant changes will be announced in our Discord server and reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
